Rather predictable result when first ranked SpanishZaragoza (4-1) rolled over at home 4th placed Cypriot Anorthosis (1-4) 89-61 on Wednesday. Zaragoza outrebounded Anorthosis 42-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. Zaragoza looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Mali center Youssouf Traore (207-2006) nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Italian point guard Marco Spissu (184-1995) accounted for 5 points and 9 assists. Four Zaragoza players scored in double figures. American Nigel Hawkins (192-2000, college: SF Austin) came up with 17 points and 4 assists and Greek-Cypriot Kyprianos Maragkos (206-1994, college: American) added 13 points respectively for Anorthosis in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zaragoza maintains first place with 4-1 record, which they share with 10 other teams. Anorthosis lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the third position with four games lost.
